Aikido Links Plus Videos This page is getting pretty long and will get longer,
so let me explain it. Iwama Style dojo links
Online magazines and information authority on Morihei Ueshiba and Sokaku Takeda of Daito-ryu Aiki Jutsu, O'Sensei's primary teacher) Uppsala Aikido club of Finland Showing videos of Aiki Toho Iaido katas. These are not exactly like what I was taught. He is going rather fast. The movements are not always as I was taught. There is no sound, so you don't know if the sword cuts are straight or not. The resheathing is vertical in the first four inches where I was taught vertical in the last four inches in all the styles I studied. This may be how he was taught. All I can say for sure is that things are different from how I was taught. I saw and practiced moves that were similar/common in all the styles of Iaido that I was taught and I see differences in those moves here that don't conform to any of the styles I was taught. That all said, he looks good in what he is doing. Nishio Style Dojo links (I know more instructors, but evidently they don't have websites.) Aikido Center of San Antonio Head Instructor David Ham Sensei Nishio sensei appointed this sensei as his representative to the U.S.A., France and Ukraine in 2000. Tsunami Aikido of Aurora, CO. Head Instructor Varjan Sensei Free Youtube video clips of Nishio Sensei teaching and Huffman Sensei adding more detailed explainations of positions and how to make the techniques work. These type techniques are taught in the advanced classes. Free Youtube video clips of
Tom Huffman Sensei giving detailed explainations of Nishio Sensei's Aikitoho Iaido forms or katas
taught in the mid 1990's. There are also explanations of often unexplained basic things outside
of class; the belt tie, explanation of a blocking draw, resheathing details and a way to wrap the lanyard around
the scabbard for storage, the "Butterfly Knot". Some extra Iaido or boken practices Hon Iaido Happo-giri example
