Iaido is the “Way” of drawing, manipulating and re-sheathing a Japanese type sword. This art is not as stressful as Aikido, yet gives a good workout.
This practice is good for posture, coordination, mental concentration and focus. This also teaches sword handling, care and maintenance. This knowledge correlates directly with handling a live (sharp) blade, which is a dangerous three foot long razor.
For this school, this knowledge is a prerequisite for Batto (actual cutting) classes. The base rate is $20 per class.
Classes are 1 hour long, 6pm-7pm Mondays and Wednesdays and 12:05-1:00pm on Saturday afternoons.
This length of time does not over stress the arm or cause undue fatigue.
Ages appropriate for these classes are 13 to 80 depending on maturity and fitness levels. No live (sharp) blades allowed for this class.
Wooden sword with plastic scabbard are provided until you decide to purchase your own practice sword (Iaito).
